Corporate Investigator
Location: Canada or U.SCompany: lululemon Athletica
We are looking for a skilled and ethical Corporate Investigator to help us protect our organization from internal and external threats, misconduct, fraud, and other illegal activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting investigations, collecting and analyzing information, and providing comprehensive reports that support fact-based decision-making. The Corporate Investigator will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Investigations: Initiate and lead investigations into suspected misconduct, fraudulent activities, violations of policies, and other irregularities. Gather and preserve evidence through interviews, data analysis, document examination, and other investigative techniques.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial records, electronic data, and other relevant information to detect irregularities, anomalies, or patterns that may indicate wrongdoing. Utilize forensic tools and software to examine digital evidence when necessary.
- Interviews and Interrogations: Interview employees, witnesses, and subjects of investigations to gather information, assess credibility, and document statements. Conduct ethical and legal interviews when required.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed and well-documented investigation reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Maintain comprehensive case files to ensure accountability and transparency.
- Compliance: Stay current with industry regulations, best practices, and legal requirements. Assist in ensuring that the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with legal counsel, human resources, and other departments to facilitate timely resolution of investigations. Work closely with external entities such as law enforcement, as needed.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop and recommend strategies to mitigate risks associated with identified issues.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law, Finance) is preferred. Proven experience in corporate investigations, law enforcement, or related roles. Knowledge of legal and ethical investigative methods, procedures, and best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in using investigation tools, software, and databases. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Fraud Examiner) is a plus. High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity.
