We're a trusted supplier of essential equipment to firefighters and law enforcement professionals. Our team is dedicated to helping these public safety heroes do their jobs safely and effectively-with the right gear at the right time. We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Product Category Specialist to help us build, manage, and grow our product offerings in key equipment categories.
The Opportunity:
This is more than just a merchandising role. You'll be at the crossroads of product strategy, sales planning, and market analysis, managing inventory and making informed decisions that directly affect what we sell and how we grow. We're open to training the right person with solid foundational skills and a passion for public safety gear-even if they're not a perfect match on paper.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute strategies for assigned product categories (fire/rescue gear, law enforcement equipment, etc.)
- Evaluate new products and vendors; manage the lifecycle of products we carry
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to build promotions and sales plans
- Use inventory data, supplier trends, and sales performance to guide decisions
- Track budgets and plan new additions to our catalog accordingly
- Ensure smooth product transitions and manage phase-outs of obsolete inventory
- Stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and competitive products
Work details: Hybrid (max 2 days/week remote) - onsite preferred. General work schedule - 8:30-5:30 with an hour for lunch.
Requirements

- Are analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy making data-informed decisions
- Have experience in product management, merchandising, or sales planning (or are a quick learner with strong organizational skills)
- Are excited by gear and tools used by firefighters, EMS, and police
- Understand basic inventory or purchasing principles
- Have a background in retail, distribution, or supply chain operations
- Are highly self-motivated, organized, and collaborative
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems
- Knowledge of public safety industry products
- Previous B2B sales or buying experience
- Work in a mission-driven industry-your work supports first responders
- Room to grow: this role is great for someone ready to learn and move up
- Small, close-knit team with a strong work ethic and collaborative environment
