Summary
Clear Creek County, Colorado seeks a dedicated Detective to conduct criminal investigations that protect the safety of our mountain communities. Based in Georgetown, this position performs complex investigations, gathers and analyzes evidence, interviews victims, witnesses, and suspects, prepares detailed reports, and collaborates with patrol, prosecutors, and other agencies. The Detective will develop case strategies, testify in court, and maintain accurate case files while upholding the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and community service in alignment with the County's collaborative, public service culture.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough criminal and special investigations for Clear Creek County
- Collect, document, and preserve physical and digital evidence
- Interview and interrogate victims, witnesses, and suspects
- Prepare clear, detailed investigative and incident reports
- Collaborate with patrol deputies, prosecutors, and other agencies
- Develop investigative strategies and follow leads to case resolution
- Present testimony and evidence in court proceedings and hearings
- Maintain accurate, confidential case files and records
- Engage with community members to gather information and build trust
- Uphold department policies, laws, and professional ethics at all times
