Responsibilities

  • Patrol buses, trains, stations, and facilities to deter and detect crime
  • Respond to service calls, emergencies, and security incidents on UTA property
  • Enforce local, state, and federal laws, as well as UTA rules and ordinances
  • Conduct preliminary investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses
  • Issue warnings and citations and make arrests when appropriate
  • Prepare accurate incident, arrest, and investigative reports
  • Testify in court and hearings as required
  • Support crowd control and security for special events and peak service times
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies
  • Engage riders and community members to promote safety and UTA policies
