The Roseville Police Department is hiring sworn police officers.Experience Employment as a sworn Police Officer with a California P.O.S.T. certified agency or successful completion of a P.O.S.T. approved police academy by date of appointmentReceipt of California P.O.S.T Basic Course Waiver by date of appointment counts towards experience.Training Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, GED, or a higher level degree from an accredited educational institution.License or Certificate Possession of a valid California driver's license by date of appointment.Possession of one of the following: A current California P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission) academy Graduation CertificatePOST Proof of Eligibility (POE)Basic CertificateBasic Course Waiver by date of appointmentMust obtain CPR and First Aid certificates within the first 12 months of employment.Must be age21 by date of appointment.Employees must be tobacco free and cannot use tobacco products on or off duty.Selection Process All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will have their application scored in a Formula Rate Examination. The applicant's experience and education will be evaluated using a pre-determined formula. Scores will determine applicant ranking and placement on the Employment List.Supplemental questions will be utilized by the department hiring authority to make interview and selection determinations.Final appointment is contingent upon a check of past employment references, a City‑paid fingerprint check, a pre‑employment medical exam, drug and alcohol screening, credit check, license and/or education verification, psychological examination, and/or an extensive Police Department background check process.THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
