Summary

How You'll Help Transform Healthcare The Hospital Police Officer provides professional law enforcement services to the Carilion Clinic. These services include carrying out the objectives of the Clinic, preserving peace and protecting life and property, preventing crime, and enforcing laws.Responsibilities Locate and investigate suspicious conditions and complaints by responding to calls and patrolling Carilion Clinic facilities for security breaches such as unlocked doors and open windows.Assist and coordinate with outside law enforcement agencies while they are interacting with hospital services, visitors, patients or staff.Guard and/or provide security for prisoners, mental health patients, special events, dignitaries, and staff when a need is identified.Respond quickly and professionally to all calls for service involving traffic, criminal or non‑criminal incidents and requests for information or assistance.Enforce laws, investigate crimes, and process crime scenes.Direct traffic while monitoring and enforcing parking regulations.Write and file all required reports in a timely manner.Qualifications Education: High School or equivalent required.Experience: No experience required, but previous law enforcement or security experience is preferred.Licensure/Certification: Valid Virginia driver's license required.
