Under the direction of the Director of Public Safety, these public safety officers provide security for allUSCBeaufort campus locations(Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head Island) including but not limited to: providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and campus visitors; preventing theft of and damage to equipment and contents of University buildings and property; deterring disorderly acts and unwanted intrusions at University buildings; all other duties as assigned, and enforcement of rules, regulations and policies as may be promulgated.Qualifications - A high school education and one (1) year experience in law enforcement, military experience, safety or security activities preferred. A valid driver's license and clean background check are required. Must have general computer skills, be able to communicate effectively, produce written reports, assess situations and develop a plan of action in a timely manner. Must be physically able to pursue an assailant, lift a person if necessary and act in emergency situations. Outdoor work required.
