Job DescriptionSchedule: Part Time Rotating Shifts (0-36 hours per week - 12 hours shifts)Work Location: White Memorial Hospital (Onsite)Department Supported: Public SafetyPrimary Responsibilities:Conducts rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties that are owned, leased or occupied by IU Health. Responds to calls for service. Enforces and assists in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations and policies. Provides direction and guidance to team members, guests and patients. Assists teams with de-escalating tense, uncertain and emotional situations. Investigates criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed. Maintains records and logs and completes written reports as required. Performs physical security screening as required. Creates a safe healthcare environment for team members, patients and guests. Performs other duties as assigned by the chain of command.Requirements:High School Diploma/GED is required.Requires 0-2 years of relevant experience.Requires current non-restricted Indiana Driver's License.Must not have convictions for felony, domestic violence or violent misdemeanor offenses.Must be able to pass a pre-employment background investigation, drug screening and psychological exam.Requires working knowledge of computers and various software programs.Must be able to obtain NCIC/IDACS certification and access.Have never had law enforcement officer license denied by final order or revoked.Not currently on suspension or have a voluntary surrender of a law enforcement license currently in effect.Preferred:Associate's Degree is preferred.Benchmarks:3 months: Completing training, demonstrating knowledge of policies, effective patrol and report writing6 months: Independently handling incidents, strong communication and de-escalation skills12 months: Trusted team member, mentoring newer staff, consistently high performance in safety response
