AIC focuses on Series Seed to Series B companies using AI to solve real business problems.Job DescriptionWe are seeking to add an Associate or Senior Associate (role dependent on experience) to our US‑based investment team. We are very intentional about growing our team and believe in an apprenticeship model. This full‑time role is based in the Bay Area and is intended to begin mid‑to‑late July 2025.ResponsibilitiesIncrease the firm's competitive advantage through differentiated, focused approaches to sourcing and diligence that produce compelling investments.Drive deal evaluation, including detailed customer and management references, market sizing and mapping, financial modeling, and industry research.Sourcing new early‑stage investments by nurturing meaningful relationships with founders, investors, and the broader VC community.Develop expertise in key AI subsectors while building a depth of knowledge across a wide range of business models.Assist in fund administration and operations, such as audits, reporting, and investor relations.Collaborate with teammates to develop key thesis areas.Contribute to building the firm's brand (alongside your own) and improving internal processes.What we're looking forForm meaningful connections with entrepreneurs and co‑investors.“Carry” a deal from sourcing, investment, and eventual exit.Must HaveCore competencies in startup sourcing and due diligence:Ability to critically analyze and develop investment thesis from startup business models, market potential, technology/product, and management teams.Financial analytical skills: ability to analyze financial statements and build financial models.Research and market analysis: proficiency in conducting market research, analyzing market landscapes, and identifying emerging trends in technologies and sectors.Startup sourcing and networking to build meaningful relationships within the startup ecosystem.Written and spoken English communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex due diligence conclusions and investment recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.Personality and Cultural fit:Proactive, curious, and driven to take initiative in sourcing deals.Adaptability to fast‑paced, evolving market, technology, and deal environments.Strong critical problem‑solving skillset in unstructured environments with high uncertainty.2+ years combined experience from any of the following: PE/VC (investments), structured training (consulting/investment banking), and/or experience in product/operations (startups).US work authorization.Nice to HaveAbility to evaluate technical feasibility and commercial viability of AI/ML products and innovations.Deep understanding of advanced technologies and industry trends, especially in sectors such as healthcare, computing infrastructure, defense, and sustainability.Technical undergraduate training in engineering, math, science, and/or computer science.Advanced degrees in either technology or business (MBA).Our company values diverse experiences and are eager to meet candidates who bring new perspectives to the team.
