Lakeland Joint School District is seeking a strong, compassionate, and professional Armed District Safety Specialist who is committed to building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a background in law enforcement.

Preferred qualifications include a strong law enforcement background, the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor with the ability to remain calm under pressure, and possession of an Enhanced Concealed Weapons Permit.

Employment requirements prior to employment include successfully completing a polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, physical fitness evaluation, and criminal background check. Work schedules will generally follow the school calendar, with additional required training during summer months.

Application requirements include a district online application and resume, with successful completion of an extensive background check (references, recommendations, and criminal history).
