In this role, you will:Responds to non-emergency or delayed calls from the public that may not require the presence of a sworn police officer and gathers information by interviewing victims, witnesses, and reporting partiesAssists with traffic control, minor noninjury collision investigation, takes statements, and completes related reportsConducts follow up investigations that do not require contact with a suspect; identifies, collects and documents evidence on scene; takes photographs and fingerprints; handles and transports evidencePatrols city parks and recreation areas, monitors users, and reports unsafe conditions or vandalismPatrol parks and recreation areas, monitor public safety, and report vandalism or hazardous conditionsIdeal Candidate for Police Service AssistantA genuine interest in policing, community safety, and public serviceHas or currently participates in a Police Explorer or Cadet program that is interested in future law enforcementStrong communication and interpersonal skillsGood attention to detail and ability to follow proceduresWillingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to confidentiality and professionalismMinimum Qualifications:High School diploma or GED.
