TheERC maintains extensive collections, educational resources, and specializedassessment materials while serving the broader Boston College community.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide vision, leadership, and management for all ERC operations, services, collections, and facilitiesSupervise and mentor the ERC teamManage library operations budgets, student employment budgets, and collection fundsLead collection development for educational research resources, including print and electronic monographs, and journalsProvide research consultations, reference services, and instructional programs that support student and faculty research in education and related fieldsPromote awareness and use of library collections and services through outreach, communication, and engagement activitiesParticipate in library-wide strategic planning, committees, task forces, and professional organizationsFull-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $95,100 to $118,900; salary commensurate with relevant experience.RequirementsMaster of Library Science (MLS/MLIS) degree from an ALA-accredited institution or an advanced degree in Education with significant library experienceMinimum of five years of post-master's professional experience in education, librarianship, or a closely related academic settingDemonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, including staff management and budget oversightKnowledge of educational research methodologies, trends, instructional practices, and information resourcesExperience providing research assistance, information literacy instruction, and faculty supportExcellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience as an education liaison librarian, reference librarian, instructional librarian, or curriculum materials specialistThree or more years of management experience in an academic or educational environmentExperience working with teacher education programs, curriculum collections, or educational assessment resourcesWork ScheduleOccasional evening and weekend attendance may be requiredfor library events, programs, or operational needs.
