Position Title : West Coast Public Affairs InternReports to : Daniel Wittenberg, Public Affairs Assistant, West CoastLocation : Remote but CA or West Coast Preferred (Must be able to work West Coast Hours)Duration : 2-3 monthsThe PositionJ Street is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join the West Coast Engagement team. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in advocacy and constituent outreach to gain hands-on experience supporting J Street's Public Affairs.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage In-District Meeting (IDM) data in Salesforce, including entering records, pulling lists, and reconciling attendee information against the internal tracking spreadsheetResearch and vet prospective IDM participants across Congressional districts using ActionKit, identifying community influentials and assessing advocacy alignmentMaintain organized outreach tracking by district, including vetting notes and engagement historyAdapt and personalize templated communications for IDM outreach, including meeting requests, invitations, and thank-you correspondenceDraft and send communications on behalf of staff as directedAttend virtual IDMs to provide real-time note-taking and prepare post-meeting summaries capturing key concerns, commitments, and follow-up action itemsDesired Skills and Experience:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a comfort and willingness to cold-call people on the phoneExcellent organizational skills and careful attention to detailStrong relational and interpersonal skillsAbility to juggle multiple tasks and work quickly on a deadlineProficiency in using databases, internet research tools, and Microsoft Office SuiteInterest in and/or knowledge of Congress, congressional operations, and U.S. politicsFamiliarity with J Street's issues, particularly US foreign policy on the Middle East, the US-Israel relationship, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and American Jewish communal affairsMore about J StreetJ Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans working for the future of Israel as the democratic homeland of the Jewish people.
