Job Description
The JobSan Bernardino County is accepting applications for Automated Systems Analysts (ASA) II who are responsible for server and network infrastructure support, as well as second tier support on desktop environments. ASA II's are responsible for diverse information systems that may include interfaces to other County enterprise systems. Essential duties include system administration, advanced troubleshooting skills, network design and management, database and server administration, evaluation and recommendation of new technologies, capacity planning, writing hardware and software specifications, and interacting with vendors and other departments.

The current vacancies exist throughout the County. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.
The resulting eligible list may also be used to fill vacancies within the County Special Districts and Fire District. The Fire District and Special Districts Departments are separate entities from San Bernardino County, and as such, compensation and benefits for their positions are set forth in a different compensation plan. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check, including fingerprinting and polygraph for some positions, and a job-related physical exam, prior to employment.
Shift Availability: Must be available to work different shifts. The County pays an hourly differential for those employees working night shifts.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following experience -AND- education requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience, within the last five (5) years, supporting Microsoft networked desktops, maintaining and supporting networking functions, supporting file and print servers, administering Active Directory and coordinating user and desktop support, which must also include three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in at least three (3) of the following areas:
- MS Windows 10/11
- MS Windows Server 2019 and newer
- macOS
- Linux
- Enterprise Virtualization Technologies (Vmware, Hyper V, Nutanix)
- Mobile device support, including iOS/iPadOS, Android, and Windows devices
- Enterprise Backup/Restore/Disaster Recovery (Veeam, CommVault, Chesity, etc.)
- Enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) (NetApp, Pure Storage, Nimble, etc.)
- Network Infrastructure Support (Wired and Wireless) (Cisco, Meraki, etc.)
- MS Active Directory
- MS Entra ID
- MS Systems Center (Configuration Manager, Operations Manager, Services Manager, etc.)
- MS SharePoint 2016 and newer
- Tanium
- MS Intune
- Windows 365
-AND-
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATE*: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed coursework from an accredited** college, university, or technical school in information technology, computer sciences, or a closely related field -OR- a certificate as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer/Solutions Expert (MCSE), or comparable Microsoft Associate- or Expert-level certification related to server infrastructure, cloud administration, identity, security, or endpoint administration may substitute for the required education.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Two (2) additional years of qualifying experience can substitute for the education/certification requirement.
** Qualifying degrees and coursework must be conferred by institutions accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Degrees earned outside the United States must be accompanied by an evaluation from a recognized credential evaluation service verifying U.S. equivalency.
