Job Description
The JobArrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Per Diem Phlebotomists who collect blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients according to established standards and practices. Phlebotomists are responsible for ensuring the quality of the blood specimens taken, delivering specimens for processing and using hospital computer programs to input and retrieve laboratory order information.

Positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Employees may participate in the County's PST Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-employment Process: Incumbents must pass a background investigation, which includes verification of employment history and education, in addition to, a physical exam and TB test.
Per Diem: Per Diem positions are not Regular Positions within the County, and there should be no expectation of continued employment or guaranteed hours. Working in a Per Diem position does not preclude you from applying and competing for Regular positions within the County. (Refer to the San Bernardino County website for current open recruitments.)
Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum Requirements
Experience: Six (6) months of full-time equivalent venipuncture experience in a medical environment.
AND
Certification: Must possess and maintain a current State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1 or CPT-2) license with the Department of Public Health.
Desired Qualifications
The department seeks candidates who are able to adapt to changes in assignments/schedules and priorities in a positive manner.
Candidates must possess excellent communication skills while working with patients and explaining the phlebotomy process.
