Summary
About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to maintain and repair essential equipment at their facility in East London . This role is vital for ensuring the operational readiness of the airport, covering a wide range of vehicles and machinery used for aircraft servicing, such as baggage tractors, belt loaders, power units, and de-icing equipment. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep this critical fleet operational. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to maintenance, and a commitment to safety, ensuring that ground operations run smoothly and efficiently without disruption.Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing on various GSE vehicles and equipment .Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues affecting GSE performance.Operate diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify and resolve faults.Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and inventory of spare parts.Ensure all GSE equipment meets safety standards and regulatory compliance for airport operations.Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure timely repairs to minimize downtime.Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience as a GSE Technician or similar mechanical/automotive technician role.Proven experience diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals , schematics, and repair guides.Familiarity with airport operations and safety procedures is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Relevant trade certifications or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields.Benefits Competitive hourly wage with overtime pay.Comprehensive health and retirement benefits.Training opportunities to expand skills on new equipment.Supportive team environment focused on operational efficiency.Opportunity to work in a dynamic airport setting.#J-18808-Ljbffr
