Our rank structure is:Chief of PoliceCaptainSergeantOfficerLateral Officer Appointments Full-time Police Officers with arrest powers, certified in any state within the United States, with no break in service for two (2) years at the time of application, may apply for a lateral appointment.Lateral Eligibility Process:Human Resources will review applications for minimum qualifications on a continuous basis. When a qualifying application is received, within two weeks a candidate will be contacted to complete the eligibility process, which will include: Completion of background waiversPersonal History QuestionnaireBackground investigation, including application materials from candidate's most recent commissionFitness TestingIf a candidate is eligible to continue in the process, their eligibility is then certified by the Civil Service Commission.
