Summary
Provides for the safety of students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. Additionally, this position is responsible for the security ofSWOSUbuildings and property by preserving law and order and enforcing regulations.These tasks are to be performed in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.Description of Job Duties:Enforce laws including federal and state statutes andSWOSU regulationsPrevent crime and protect property onSWOSU lots, buildings, and surrounding areaControl traffic: this includes but is not limited to issuing traffic citations for moving or parking violations to ensure a safe and smooth flow of trafficRoutinely perform foot and mobile patrol to ensure security ofSWOSU lots, buildings, and propertyAssist individuals whose vehicles have become disabledProvide directions and assistance to campus visitorsMay assist in evacuation during fire and bomb threats and provide emergency first aid in the event of injuryReport traffic, safety and/or security infractions to proper authoritiesMaintain a high degree of campus visibility. This involves projectingSWOSU and the Department, as well as their goals and mission in a positive and professional mannerServe as required onSWOSU committeesNotify Supervisor, Director, Safety Coordinator, or Human Resources of any potentially dangerous equipment, practices, or violations of safety proceduresAppropriate attendance and punctuality requiredMust be willing to and able to perform job related travelMust maintain a current and valid driver licenseAdditional Responsibilities:Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environmentAssist in situations as called uponOther duties as assignedTerms of Employment:Employment at willReports to Police ChiefSafety and job-related trainings will be completed as instructedWage to be established by SWOSU's wage structureLives within 15 mile/minute radius from SWOSU PDMust be willing to serve SWOSU for a two-year minimumCLEET certification is preferred, but not requiredMinimum of one year of demonstrated success in law enforcement is preferredGood knowledge of traffic control procedures is requiredMust be able to pass a background checkMust have a valid OK driver's licenseMust have a GED/High school diplomaMust not have a felony, domestic violence offense, or a crime against moral turpitudeGood written, verbal, basic mathematical, and interpersonal skills are requiredSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the President of SWOSU or his/her designee may find appropriate#J-18808-Ljbffr
