Summary

About the Role The OGC Analyst – Conflicts, Laterals is an integral part of Latham's Office of the General Counsel (OGC) team. This role will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and acting upon conflicts reports regarding incoming lateral candidates to the firm, including partners, counsel, associates, trainees, staff, and potentially portable new client business, while validating that the requirements for the conflicts check are accurate according to the information provided by the lateral candidate through the conflicts questionnaire. This role will be located in either our Boston, New York, Houston, Los Angeles, or Washington, D.C. office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in‑office presence.Responsibilities & Qualifications Administer the conflicts review for all lateral attorney candidates, including assisting the candidate with completion of the conflicts questionnaire.Obtain necessary guidance from attorneys or other Conflicts staff who understand the requirements in different geographical jurisdictions to properly evaluate the lateral conflicts check.Analyze conflict reports to determine matters that require additional review, communicate follow‑up questions to attorneys, or suggest Ethics Committee action.Prepare a summary of information from the conflicts report analysis and follow‑up responses, and report conflicts resolution of issues to the sponsoring attorneys and the recruiting departments.Work with OGC leadership to ensure work is addressed in the most efficient order and follows guidance from supervisors and managers with respect to triage of work.Protect and maintain any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains.Desired Skills & Attributes Demonstrate an advanced ability to perceive and analyze problems, and develop alternative strategies to solve them.Display well‑developed, professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively interface with attorneys, management, support staff, and outside contacts.Possess the organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, handle multiple deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Required Experience A bachelor's degree or an equivalent; a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a law firm or other professional services firm.Experience with Intapp Open software, preferably.Benefits & Additional Information Healthcare, life and disability insurance.A generous 401k plan.At least 11 paid holidays per year, and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment and grows with tenure.Well‑being programs (e.g., mental health services, mindfulness and resiliency, medical resources, well‑being events, and more).Professional Development programs.Employee discounts.Affinity groups, networks, and coalitions for lawyers and staff.USD $75,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.Equal Opportunity Latham & Watkins is an equal opportunity employer.
