Summary
To serve as the prosecuting attorney in the City of Palestine Municipal Court.Provides legal interpretation of Federal and State laws and regulations, local ordinances, codes, City policies, and court decisions.Represents the State of Texas and City of Palestine in Municipal Court prosecutions for Class C misdemeanors arising under laws of the State of Texas including charges filed under: the Texas Transportation Code, Penal Code, Alcoholic Beverage Code, Health and Safety Code, Education Code, and the City of Palestine Code of Ordinances.Provides counsel to Municipal Court Judge and City staff if updates need to be made to City of Palestine ordinances, policies or procedures.Provides counsel for Public Information Act requests regarding Municipal Court proceedings.Performs legal research and prepares legal opinions on municipal or criminal proceedings.Performs other duties as required.Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school.Must have a minimum of five years' professional legal experience in the field of municipal or criminal law#J-18808-Ljbffr
