FOIA AnalystLocation: Three positions available in the National Capital Region (NCR): Reston, VA; Herndon, VA; Washington, DC.DescriptionCORTEK, Inc. is seeking an experienced Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Analyst to support the National Park Service (NPS) in processing and responding to FOIA requests. In this role, you will work with FOIA Officers, custodians, and attorneys to ensure records are identified, reviewed, redacted, and released in compliance with federal law, supporting the protection of America's parks and cultural resources.ResponsibilitiesMonitor FOIAXpress, email, and mail for new requests; log and track cases.Draft acknowledgment letters and assign cases to appropriate components.Coordinate with custodians and park units to identify responsive records.Provide guidance and training to custodians on search procedures.Analyze records for responsiveness and applicable FOIA/Privacy Act exemptions.Redact sensitive information electronically and document exemption justifications.Flag potential legal, deliberative, or White House equities for review.Draft response letters and prepare final response packages for approval.Coordinate with the Office of the Solicitor and NPS FOIA Officers on complex cases.Maintain case files and ensure all actions are fully documented.Job Requirements3+ years of FOIA processing experience, including reviewing and redacting records.Proficiency with FOIAXpress, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and eDiscovery tools.Strong understanding of FOIA exemptions (especially b(4), b(5), b(6)), Privacy Act, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.Excellent writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple requests under tight deadlines.ClearanceAbility to obtain a National Agency Check (NAC/NACI).Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) EmployerCORTEK is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace by hiring and retaining talented individuals from all backgrounds.
