TheCharltonPoliceDepartmentis currently hiring for a PoliceOfficer.We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive, and community-oriented Police Officer for an opening in the department. Applicants must have completed MPTC Full Time Police Academy or a Post Approved Bridge Academy. Must be POST compliant. Charlton is a non civil service police department.Duties: APoliceOfficerworksundersupervisiontoperformlawenforcementduties,protectinglife, property,andthecivilrightsofindividuals.Primarydutiesincludepatrol;interactingwithcitizensto provideservice and renderassistance; preparingandcompletingrecords, reports, and other paperwork documenting incidents for use in prosecution. APolice Officer isdispatched tocrimeand emergency scenesin response to reportedviolations, accidents, domestic disputesandabuses,and otherincidents;carriesoutcrimesceneduties;makesarrestsandperformssearchandseizure; conductsinvestigations;andinterviews witnesses, suspects, andcomplainants.Salary - $71,275.36 - $100,672.00 (depending on years of service, education and shift).Shift DifferentialClothing allowanceTuition Reimbursement - $4,000 per year.Quinn BillHarvard Pilgrim Health Insurance 75/25 splitVacation time - Previous years of full-time service in another Town will be counted towards additional vacation time (up to 10 years of service and a max of 4 weeks)Additional benefits include paid holidays, sick time, personal time and much more.The Charlton Police Department has an excellent benefit package outlined in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement which can be viewed on the Town's website under the HR department.The deadline to apply is August 24, 2026.
