What You'll Do
- Respond to fire, medical, hazmat, weather, and facility emergencies
- Perform fire suppression using apparatus, hydrants, hose stations, and extinguishers
- Conduct rescue operations (vehicle, machinery, high/low angle)
- Provide medical response, patient care, triage, stabilization, and transport
- Communicate incident details to dispatch, supervisors, and medical staff
- Assist with hazardous materials spill containment
- Perform patrols, escorts, access control, and reporting as needed
- Complete required reports and logs
Required Qualifications
- NFPA Firefighter I & II
- Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations
- EMT or EMR certification (Indiana or National Registry)
- Out-of-state certifications must transfer to Indiana within 90 days
Must be able to meet and continue to meet all applicable state, county, and local certification requirements for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) level certification
Ability to meet the physical and certification requirements of the role (with or without reasonable accommodation)
