Summary
Security Officer
To provide reasonable level of security for Medical Center patients, visitors and staff, their property and Medical Center property. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit attentive behavior and timely response to calls for service.
- Responsible for being prompt and reliable for reporting to work on time, attending education sessions.
- Serve as a representative of MBMC in areas of information, confidentiality, courtesy, diplomacy. Exhibit a positive demeanor, cheerful, polite and professional.
- Adhere to established BHS and Security department dress code, i.e. Uniforms must be neat, clean, pressed and worn appropriately.
- Follow established departmental and facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain annual certifications.
- Assist Lieutenant with duties as assigned and serve as Lieutenant in their absence.

Minimum Required:
- 2 years Legal - Law Enforcement Required or 2 years Security Required. Must be at least 21 years of age.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.

Special Skills:
Minimum Required:
- Must be in good physical condition, able to drive motorized vehicle with manual transmission and to operate 2-wheel vehicle.

- License/Certification/Registries (valid for the State of MS): Driver's License Required. License Eligible for Weapons Permit and Must Maintain During Employment Required. Eligible for A Surety Bond and Must Maintain During Employment Required. OC or Pepper Spray Certification Required, or Willingness to Obtain Required.
Preferred/Desired:
- Commercial Driver's License Preferred. Taser Certification preferred.
