Summary

Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills are essential.PRIMARY DUTIESServe as client representative and attend evening meetingsDraft development review letters pertaining to various municipal development applications.Prepare, amend, and update municipal comprehensive plans, master plans and reexamination reportsReview, evaluate and recommend zoning amendments and rezoning'sPrepare, amend, and update Housing Element and Fair Share PlansPrepare redevelopment investigations and plansDraft a variety of ordinances and regulations relating to development controlsVarious research tasks as may be requested by municipal clientsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESWell-developed knowledge of planning principles and practicesWorking knowledge of the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law. Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code a plusUnderstanding of the NJ regulations including MLUL, LRHL, COAHKnowledge of economic development, transportation planning, or environmental planning a plusStrong writing, communication, and copy editing skillsKnowledge of computer software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowing ArcPRO, SketchUP, and Adobe Creative Cloud a plusAbility to critically analyze ordinances and codes and draft revisionsAbility to identify community problems, issues, and opportunitiesGroup facilitation and public engagement skillsAbility to multitask and deliver multiple projects on time and within budget.Comfort level with presenting to various stakeholder groups.Ability to complete tasks independentlyEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LICENSES REQUIREMENTSMust have 10+ years of planning experience, AICP certification required.
