Summary
Crossing Guard (Part-Time Or Substitute)
This position reports to the Crossing Guard Supervisor. Assists pedestrians and school children in safely crossing city streets.
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Compensated for 1.5 hours per shift, 3 hours total per day)
Morning Hours: 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM*
Monday-Thursday Afternoon Hours: 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM* and Friday Afternoon Hours: 1:15 PM - 2:00 PM*
*School District schedule changes may affect these hours.
This position does not offer benefits.
Education and Experience:
A. No education or experience is required.
B. Must be age 18 or older.
C. Working knowledge of safety rules and regulations in assisting children in crossing streets is preferred.
D. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and communicate effectively verbally.
Handheld stop sign, safety vest, and traffic cones (provided).
1. Controls traffic at school crossing intersections.
2. Assists school children safely crossing City streets on their way to and from school.
3. Follows safety rules and regulations while performing duties.
Lifting: light - up to 20 lbs. typical
Repetitive: standing, walking, listening, talking, grasping, smiling.
Outdoors - all weather conditions (Coat provided)
