Holewatch/Firewatch - Lima, OH

Summary

Location: Lima, OH (Cenovus Refinery)

Project Duration: Now - approximately end October/ early November

Schedule: Monday-Sunday | 10-hour shifts (13 days on, 1 day off)

We are currently seeking Holewatch/Firewatch personnel to support an upcoming turnaround project at the Cenovus Refinery in Lima, Ohio. This is a temporary project-based opportunity expected to continue through approximately late October or early November 2026.

We are looking for dependable, safety-minded individuals who can remain alert and focused while monitoring active work areas and supporting safe refinery operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor hot-work activities, including welding, cutting, and grinding, for potential fire hazards.
• Inspect work areas and remove or properly protect combustible materials.
• Ensure appropriate fire extinguishing equipment is readily available and accessible.
• Maintain clear access and emergency escape routes around the work area.
• Remain alert and attentive throughout hot-work activities.
• Stop work and immediately report unsafe conditions or potential fire hazards.
• Continue monitoring the area for the required period after hot work is completed.
• Monitor confined-space entry areas and maintain communication with personnel when assigned as a Hole Watch.
• Follow all refinery, project, and company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the turnaround project.

Qualifications

• Previous Fire Watch, Hole Watch, refinery, turnaround, or industrial construction experience preferred.
• Ability to remain attentive and focused for extended periods.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety and potential hazards.
• Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and site-specific requirements.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to work outdoors and in industrial/refinery environments.
• Must be willing to work the schedule required for the turnaround project.
• Must be able to pass all required site safety training, background requirements, and drug screening.
