The City of South Jordan Police Department is hiring a Full-Time Criminal Investigative Analyst to support criminal investigations through intelligence analysis, digital evidence review, research, and information sharing.What You'll Do:Analyze criminal intelligence from police reports, criminal databases, social media, intelligence centers, and other authorized sourcesIdentify trends, patterns, associations, and investigative leads that support criminal investigations and crime prevention effortsPrepare intelligence reports, summaries, analytical products, and briefings for detectives, officers, supervisors, prosecutors, and partner agenciesPerform digital forensic downloads and review digital evidence in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and investigative proceduresMaintain and audit law-enforcement databases and help ensure appropriate access and useProvide training and updates on database use, intelligence resources, legislative changes, and investigative proceduresCoordinate with law-enforcement and intelligence partners to exchange authorized information and support investigationsMaintain confidential records and sensitive criminal-justice information while ensuring information is shared only with authorized individualsWho You Are:Analytical and curious – able to examine large amounts of information and identify meaningful trends, relationships, and inconsistenciesDetail-oriented and accurate – committed to producing reliable information and maintaining high standards of accuracyA critical thinker – able to synthesize complex or incomplete information into useful investigative intelligenceA strong communicator – skilled at clearly presenting information in reports, briefings, training, and professional conversationsOrganized and self-directed – able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independentlyDiscreet and professional – able to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when working with sensitive or graphic criminal informationA collaborative partner – comfortable working closely with detectives, officers, prosecutors, analysts, and outside agenciesQualifications:Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or universityAt least two years of related analytical, administrative, criminal justice, research, or law-enforcement experienceAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredLaw-enforcement experience preferredMust obtain Bureau of Criminal Identification certification within six months of hireMust obtain Digital Forensic Download certification within twelve months of hireThis is an opportunity to use your analytical and technical skills to directly support criminal investigations and public safety while working alongside the South Jordan Police Department's Investigations Unit.#J-18808-Ljbffr
