Campus Security Officer

Summary

Per Mar is hiring for a full-time college campus security officer in Mt. Vernon.

This is a 2nd shift position, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm, Wednesday - Sunday. 40 hours-per week at $17.00 per hour.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess a valid driver's license, with a driving record that meets company policy.
• Eligible to obtain a security license for the State of Iowa, with no disqualifying criminal convictions.
• Ability to handle physical nature of the position. Must be able to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, and be outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must submit to the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen, driving report, and criminal background investigation.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Monitor campus property to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. Address violations of campus policies & regulations.
• Perform rounds examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security.
• Answer calls for service from faculty, staff, and students.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

All newly hired officers must attend a one-day orientation/training at our Cedar Rapids office.
