Job/Department Summary:

The Assistant Registrar for Articulation and Graduation Advising and Transfer Credit works under the general direction of the University Registrar and provides leadership, strategic direction, operational oversight, and continuous improvement for the University's articulation, transfer credit, graduation advising, degree audit, plan codes, graduation processing, and degree conferral functions. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with California Education Code, Title 5, CSU Executive Orders, Chancellor's Office Executive Memoranda, federal regulations, accreditation standards, and campus academic policies governing student records, general education, transfer credit, articulation, graduation requirements, and degree completion.

The Assistant Registrar provides direct supervision and leadership for the Articulation and the Graduation Advising and Transfer Credit team. The incumbent establishes operational priorities, develops procedures, implements strategic initiatives, manages technology supporting academic records, articulation, transfer credit, and graduation services, and promotes operational excellence across the Office of the Registrar.

The Assistant Registrar has knowledge and expertise with articulation policy, transfer credit evaluation, plan code creation and maintenance, graduation requirements, degree audit functionality, and academic regulations. The position collaborates extensively with Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management Services, Information Technology, faculty governance committees, academic departments, and the CSU Chancellor's Office to support timely degree completion, student success initiatives, and legislative compliance.

The Assistant Registrar supports strategic planning for Enrollment Management Services, provides leadership for campus and systemwide initiatives, develops operational metrics and assessment strategies, and fosters a culture of continuous process improvement and exceptional customer service.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in a job-related field.
AND
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in university registrar operations in articulation, transfer credit evaluation, graduation services, degree audit, academic records, enrollment management, or closely related higher education administration, with two of those years providing lead or supervisory guidance to a work unit.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:

• A master's degree in higher education or a related field
• Experience in public higher education or the California State University system
• Familiarity with FERPA, Title 5, state and federal mandates, assembly and senate bills
• Experience using PeopleSoft or similar student information system

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm

Admin I Hiring Range: $49,620 - $147,456 per year. Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected.

This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
