Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $95,368.00 annually.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Five years of professional level human resources experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Preferred
  • Direct experience researching and analyzing job classifications and compensation and making recommendations based on the research.
  • Relevant human resources certification.

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the city, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.


Essential Functions

Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
  • Conducts and analyzes job market data to make recommendations for and complete job reclassification requests.

  • Writes clear and concise reports and develops descriptive materials for management review.

  • Ensures compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting and survey requirements.
  • Evaluates and maintains jobs and job descriptions determines classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary ranges.
  • Observes, interviews, and surveys employees to collect job, organizational, and occupational information.
  • Researches employee compensation programs and make recommendations based on internal policies and procedures.
  • Responds to salary and job market surveys as well as general inquiries.
