Summary

This position is located in Seasonal Staffing Office-Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, in the Cultural Resource Management Division. Open to the first 30 applicants or until 09/30/2026 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.Key ResponsibilitiesSome of the Museum Technician Standard Duties include but are not limited to: Identify, independently sort, and classify objects that are similar to previously identified objects. Catalogs museum objects and enters cataloging data into the designated NPS catalog program. Perform routine cleaning, stabilization, or preservation of artifacts whose treatment does not require a high degree of specialization.Ensure that all loan agreements, renewal forms, insurance certificates, shipping papers, and related documentation are completed and properly signed. Monitor the environment of the collection storage and exhibit areas by keeping records on temperature, relative humidity, and pest infestation. Give specialized tours or talks dealing with the museum collection, museum storage, and exhibits. Perform a variety of clerical operations in support of the museum.Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park protects some of the most unique geological, biological, and cherished cultural landscapes in the world. Extending from sea level to 13,680 feet, the park encompasses the summits of two of the world's most active volcanoes - Kilauea and Mauna Loa - and is a designated International Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site.Requirements & EducationTo qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
