Door Systems & Access Control Specialist

Location: Devens, MA (Onsite)

Job Type: Contract, 3+ months with Possible Hire

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AMto 4:30 PM (40 hrs./week)

Industry: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing / Facilities Management

Overview

Our client is seeking a motivated, self-starting Door Systems & Access Control Specialist to support a large pharmaceutical campus (1.2M+ sq. ft.). This role is heavily focused on the maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of commercial and automatic door systems, with light involvement in access control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a wide variety of door systems:
  • Automatic doors
  • Roll-up doors
  • Sliding gates
  • Dock doors, dock locks, and dock levelers
  • Commercial man doors
  • Fire-rated doors
  • High-speed doors
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues.
• Maintain door hardware, locks, closers, and access control devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Support general building maintenance activities including:
  • Minor plumbing repairs
  • Lighting maintenance
  • Furniture repairs and installations
  • Patch and paint work
  • Locksmith-related tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• AAADM Certification (highly preferred)
• Experience with automatic doors and door operators
• GMP/cGMP or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment experience
• Familiarity with brands such as:
  • Stanley
  • Dormakaba
  • Tormax
  • Schlage
  • Chase
  • ASI

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to diagnose door and gate system failures
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Docs)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a multi-skilled maintenance environment
