Congressional Investigations Associate
Location: Washington, D.C. | Workplace: Hybrid | Employment: Full-time
A leading AmLaw firm is seeking a Congressional Investigations Senior Associateto join its highly regarded Strategic Response practice. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated Congressional investigations and government inquiries across a wide range of industries with meaningful exposure to high-profile matters and complex strategic response efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients responding to Congressional inquiries, formal committee requests, and subpoenas.
- Assist with litigation and regulatory inquiries arising from Congressional investigations.
- Manage discovery and document-intensive investigative matters.
- Prepare and guide witnesses through Congressional testimony and related proceedings.
- Help develop and coordinate strategies involving multiple branches of government.
- Work closely with clients, partners, public relations professionals, and other advisors.
- Manage multiple complex matters while maintaining strong attention to detail, judgment, and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of post-JD legal experience.
- Experience handling Congressional inquiries and/or related litigation or regulatory investigations.
- Strong ability to assess complex issues and develop practical legal strategies.
- Active bar admission and good standing in the jurisdiction where the position is based.
- Prior Congressional staff experience is a plus.
Compensation: $310,000-$365,000 annually, depending on class year, plus discretionary annual performance bonus and comprehensive benefits.
