Let's define tomorrow, together.The Lead Ramp Service Employee performs the same duties as a Ramp Service Employee. They will provide work leadership and direction to an assigned crew and will be required to give on-the-job instruction and training. The Ramp Service Employee (RSE) is responsible for processing baggage, boxes, and/or cargo between baggage/cargo areas in the airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft. We pride ourselves on being an on-time airline and are seeking dedicated individuals that understand a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards of operational safety and customer service.Job overview & responsibilities include but may not be limited to:Lift baggage, boxes, or cargo weighing up to 70lbs. when loading/unloading aircraft, carts, and containersLoading/unloading may require lifting over 100 items for a single aircraftPush/pull loaded and empty carts and containers during loading/unloading operationsCouple/uncouple carts and/or cargo container dolliesAscend/descend jet-way stairs while carrying baggageBend/stoop and crawl to move and stack/unstack cargo in aircraft and containersStand for up to 4 hours in all weather conditions to upload or unload cargo and direct trafficWalk continuously to load/ unload cargo from pallets, containers, carts, or conveyor beltsComplete safety checklists for motorized equipmentDrive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belt)Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags, and cargo labelsOperate a computer to enter and retrieve dataCount baggage/cargo being uploaded/ unloaded during operationsOperate portable radio or headphonesConnect hoses to aircraftUse signaling devices to communicate with co-workers or flight crewEnsure compliance with United and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policiesOther duties as assignedQualificationsWhat You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):At least 18 years oldHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalentComfortable with computers, mobile devices, and new technologiesAble to stand, walk, and handle baggage for an eight-hour shiftAble to read, write and speak English fluentlyAbility to communicate with other departments and flight crewsMust possess a valid state-issued driver's license, with a good driving recordMust be eligible to acquire and maintain credentials vital for the positionMust pass a background checkMust pass a pre-placement physical ability test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screenPosition-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal Service clearancesAvailable during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidaysWhen necessary, based on the needs of the operation, you will be required to work mandatory overtimeAble to perform a variety of physical activities including bending, stooping, climbing, and working in tight spaces, including lifting up to 70lbsAbility to obtain required training certifications, perform safety checks, and successfully complete all required job functions, including but not limited to operating and driving equipment, loading and unloading baggage and cargo, interpreting load sheets, baggage tags, and cargo labelsWork outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditionsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipWork where there will be exposure to high noise levelsMust NOT have lived outside of the United States in the past 3 years for any period longer than six months, except for military duty or government-approved exceptionsSuccessful completion of interview and assessment required to meet job qualificationsReliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the positionAbility to meet our uniform, and appearance standardsMust be willing and able to work 100% on-siteMust have prior leadership experience in an airport operations environmentThe starting rate for this role is $24.25.
