Position Description:Responsibilities
? Manage the assigned caseload in the felony division, including case evaluation, charging decisions, court coverage, trial preparation, and trying cases in the courtroom.
? Assist law enforcement with search warrants, arrest warrants, and guidance with case development.
? Represent the State of Ohio in motion practice, hearings, and jury trials.
? Partner with colleagues, court staff, victims, and community agencies to ensure justice is carried out in a fair and ethical manner.
? Contribute to a collaborative team environment where learning and professional development are encouraged.
Program: Felony Division Brief Description:
The Licking County Prosecutor’s Office is now accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Prosecuting Attorney within the Felony Division. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a small, supportive office where you will work closely with experienced attorneys, law enforcement, and community partners to pursue justice fairly, ethically, and with compassion.
We are looking for applicants with a strong sense of justice, a commitment to serving victims, and a desire to grow as a professional while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Job Prerequisites:
Qualifications
? Admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio.
? Jury trial experience handling felony cases, including special victim prosecution.
? Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills.
? Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Westlaw, and Windows-based programs.
? A sense of integrity, fairness, and a desire to grow within a team-oriented office.
Compensation:
Compensation & Benefits
? Competitive starting salary at or above $85,000.
