Project Manager – Federal Construction
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Travel: Regular travel to project sites, including Rapid City, SD
Salary: $95,000–$140,000 + 15% project completion bonus
Schedule: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, approximately 45–50 hours/week
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager – Federal Construction to oversee large-scale DOD construction projects supporting the B-21 Raider mission at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD.
You’ll take over 2–3 projects with a combined value of approximately $157M, with a structured handoff from the existing project team.
Projects Include
- $59M Environmental Protection Structure
- $52M Environmental Protection Structure
- $46M Maintenance Unit renovation and addition
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Oversee budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and vendors
- Manage RFIs, submittals, permits, and change orders
- Lead project meetings and coordinate with project teams
- Monitor quality, safety, and project progress
- Work directly with government representatives and project stakeholders
Qualifications
- General contractor experience required
- Federal, DOD, USACE, or military construction experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of construction documents, scheduling, budgets, and contracts
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractor management
- Microsoft Office experience required
- Bluebeam and construction management software experience preferred
- Willingness to travel as needed
