Police Officer PositionThe Town of Jackson Police Department is seeking experienced, motivated, and value-centered individuals to join our law enforcement team and we are also accepting applications from entry level candidates. Hiring Salary Entry $86,455. Hiring Range Lateral - $86,455 - $95,000 DOQ, full benefits.Jackson is an active year-round resort community with amenities including fishing, big game and waterfowl hunting, and camping; premier restaurant and dining options; proximity to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks; world class alpine, back country, and nordic skiing; exciting snowmobile terrain; quality school system; outdoor/extreme sports including rock climbing and mountaineering in the Tetons as well as kayaking, rafting, and paddleboarding on the Snake River; adjacent to National Elk Refuge; impressive arts and gallery scene; and comprehensive pathway system.The Department has a community engagement policing approach with an emphasis on mindfulness with programs including motorcycle patrol, K-9, investigations, bike patrol, airport enforcement, DUI and underage drinking focus, school resource, sexual assault response, as well as vehicle patrol utilizing upgraded fleet vehicles with cutting edge technology.Minimum qualifications for application submittal include US citizenship, 21 years of age upon completion of the Police Academy, and possession of a valid driver's license. For lateral applicants, typical qualifications in addition to those above would be equivalent to: certified peace officer status, an Associate's Degree or two years of college level coursework, and one to three years of experience as a peace officer. Preference will be given to applicants with a Wyoming Peace Officer certification and Spanish language fluency.Up to $400/month Spanish fluency stipend. $15,000 signing/stay bonus.
