    Job Summary

    Working closely with the current Strategic Enrollment Management communications team, and other social media experts on campus, the Social Media Specialist creates strategies and content while overseeing social media campaigns (on a variety of platforms) that align with SEM’s target audiences and promotes events and initiatives. In addition to regular audits of and reports on SEM’s social media and external partners presence, this position keeps a pulse on marketplace conversations-including competitive research-resulting in continuous optimization of SEM social platforms/social presence. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while supporting divisional and institutional visions and values.

The division includes the offices of Admissions and Recruitment, Institutional Research, the Registrar, SEM Data Management and Financial Aid.

    Key Qualifications
    • Working knowledge of and ability to apply standard theories, practices, principles, and techniques related to the operation of the area of social media and communication. Basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts.
    • Ability to analyze and select pertinent facts and integrate them into communication vehicles.
    • Deep understanding of social media analytics, to determine where communications and campaigns are succeeding and where and how they can be bolstered.
    • Demonstrated ability to keep abreast of campus events and subject matter expertise in relation to current events to identify and capitalize on media opportunities that will promote the university and increase positive media coverage.
    • Working knowledge of copyright and other applicable laws pertaining to publications and media.

    Education and Experience
    • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and public relations, or a related field. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

    Salary and Benefits

    Anticipated Hiring Range: $62,000 - $77,856 Per Year

    Classification Range: $49,752 - $90,000 Per Year

    Supplemental Information
