The City Manager is responsible for the overall management of the city government, including personnel, budgets, purchasing, grants, and maintenance of the City of Hinesville. The position assists the Mayor and City Council in seeing that the city’s government operates according to state law and city ordinances. Successful performance in this position facilitates the work of all city departments, assures that grant monies are obtained and used properly, assures that city services are delivered and that city records are properly retained, and enhances the image of the city. This position has direct supervision over Assistant City Manager, City Clerk, Fire Chief, Director of Inspections, Chief Financial Officer, Police Chief, Executive Assistant, Human Resources Director, IT Director, Communications Director, Community Development Director, Court Administrator, Transit Director and contracted Public Works. The City of Hinesville seeks an experienced and ethical City Manager who is a dedicated leader and can quickly gain the confidence of the community. The City Manager must possess the ability to build community trust through the development of partnerships with various stakeholders and other government entities. The City of Hinesville is offering an expected salary range of $189,000 - $209,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will also receive a competitive Executive Benefit package which includes comprehensive healthcare for single and dependent coverage, a generous leave program, and professional development opportunities. Retirement plan options are available for either a defined contribution 401(a) plan or a defined benefit pension. Relocation expense reimbursement negotiable.
