Why you will love this position: The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations is seeking a highly motivated person to create graphics that can be used in media and print to communicate the Department’s programs, services, and strategic priorities.
What you will do: • Plan and create graphic/multimedia elements involved in the production of publications, web pages, brochures, videos, flyers, emails and illustrations.
• Translate requests into effective, informative, and attractive visual communications.
• Work with Department leaders and staff to take their ideas, needs and resources and help identify the most effective outreach tools and methods to reach their audience.
• Take part in the creative process by brainstorming, gathering information and materials, and giving constructive criticism on unit projects.
• Post to and monitor social media and develop social media plans.
• Assist with management of website content.
All you need for success: Qualifications - Associate degree and 2 years of relevant experience (Substitutions may be allowed)
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration to any applicant.
Preferred Qualifications • Strong visual and creative sense.
• Proficiency in latest graphic design software applications, including Adobe Creative Suite applications InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of print production processes and other graphic services.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Outstanding attention to detail and quality under tight deadlines.
• Highly organized, self-motivated work ethic.
• Experience in creating web accessible documents.
• Good writing and oral communication skills.
• Capacity to excel working with teams and independently.
• Experience working with platforms such as X, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
• Strong technical aptitude to learn new software, hardware and techniques.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on a daily basis.
• Ability to travel in the performance of assigned duties required.
• Ability to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
