We are looking for a Seasonal Part-Time Recreation Leader to join our outgoing team at our licensed Kiddie Crew Preschool. If you would like to use your experience with kids to help create a safe, engaging, and fun environment, this position may be just what you’re looking for! Kiddie Crew is a KDHE licensed preschool program that offers a morning and afternoon session for children at the Olathe Community Center. This position will need to pass a KBI fingerprint background check, obtain pediatric First Aid/CPR certification and complete paid training for KDHE compliance within 30 days of hire.

The Recreation Leader I is an introductory position that will work under direct supervision. This position is part of a three-level career progression of Recreation Leader I, II and III.
Key Responsibilities - Contributes to the success of recreation programs; prepares, sets up, and cleans up program activities; assists with the leading of programs; monitors program participants as well as supplies and equipment; completes work under supervision by following directions.
- Assists team in providing excellent customer service; is available to participants for questions and feedback; answers simple questions, promptly referring more complex questions to other staff.
- Assists fellow staff in creating and maintaining a positive, safe and welcoming environment for participants and other staff; participates with group and offers assistance when needed; maintains awareness of changing site conditions.
Qualifications Experience: One year of experience working in the recreation industry and/or working with children is preferred. Must be 16 years of age or older.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Licenses & Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification required- training provided. Other applicable certifications for specific program focus may be required. A valid driver's license with favorable driving record is preferred.
