Performs professional administrative tasks related to the implementation of policies and procedures in the assigned department.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Compiles data for use in a variety of reports, surveys, inventories, and studies.
- Composes, edits, and prepares correspondence, speeches, reports, directives, etc.
- Maintains, prepares, revises, and disseminates department rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and other pertinent reference information.
- Assists in department budget preparation and monitoring.
- Assists in planning and implementing department sponsored activities and programs.
- Coordinates special projects and conducts field investigations to evaluate project progress.
- Provides technical guidance and assistance to clerical staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS No experience is required. Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS None.
PREFERENCES**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**
Collect and maintain documents associated with an injury or medical illness, both on and off duty, and associated with Workers’ Compensation Claims. Collect and compile work status information for preparation of the weekly Classified and Civilian Injured Employee and Transitional Duty Report. Monitor injured employee's work status entitlement to salary Continuation Benefits. Ensure Supervisors' Injury Packets are completed and accurate. Create and maintain a Workers' Compensation file folder for each claim of injury reported to the Third Party Administrator.
