This person reports to the Accountant Manager and is responsible for monitoring personal services appropriations and allocations and ensure compliance with established procedures and regulations. Prepare and maintain the Personal Services Spending Plan and available funds. Oversee the processing of payroll for two pay cycles each month ensuring the accuracy of all checks. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of excellent communication, planning, organizational skills and the ability to problem solve and work independently. This person supervises one Accounts Assistant in payroll.
Typical Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed).
Preferred Qualifications: - Two or more years of experience as an Accounts Assistant with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
OR
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in Accounting; and,
Two or more years of professional business or governmental accounting experience including the processing of financial data which requires the interpretation and application of established accounting procedures.
(Business or governmental accounting experience [at or above the level of Accounting Clerk] including the processing of financial data may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required college education.)
(24 earned graduate credit hours from an accredited college or university which includes three or more earned graduate credit hours in Accounting may substitute for one year of the required experience.)
(A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university which includes three or more earned graduate credit hours in Accounting may substitute for the required experience.)
