DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide professional, analytical, technical, administrative and management support services. Able to provide leadership and follow through in all areas of responsibility. Produce information, interpret results and make recommendations for addressing issues of medium to high complexity, and sensitivity. Evaluate risk exposures and recommend alternatives for risk control and/or mitigation. Commercial property insurance claim leader. Establish and coordinate all internal processes, procedures and guidelines for post disaster commercial insurance claim recoveries and settlements. Participate in damage assessments and compile data for executive summaries, spreadsheets and reports. Analyze insurance data and develop statistics, trends, schedules and spreadsheets for insurance policy procurements. Coordinate development of division budget and monitor insurance expenditures. Participate in the development of administrative policies, procedures, goals and objectives. Routinely communicate with City administrators, departments and outside agencies. Support administration of Insurance Broker of Record professional services contract.
WORKING CONDITIONS This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work being performed. Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Five years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed are required. Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERENCESPreferences shall also be given to those with the following:- Minimum 5 years of risk management and property & casualty insurance experience
- Insurance Adjusters License and property insurance claims experience
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Software, including Excel and PowerPoint
