Examples of DutiesThe Town of Prescott Valley is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced individual to join our team as the Development Services Director. This key leadership role will play a crucial part in shaping and guiding the future growth and development of our vibrant community.
As Director, you will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive regulations, zoning ordinances, and building codes to ensure compliance, safety, and aesthetic integrity in all construction projects. You will manage the permit issuance and inspection process to ensure timely and accurate reviews of plans and compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. You will also verify development projects are executed at the highest standards aligning with our town's values and goals.

Typical QualificationMaster's Degree in Planning, Urban Development, Public Administration, or closely related field. Must have 10 years of professional experience in planning/zoning or other community development services, including at least 5 years in a senior management role. The Town may consider an equivalent combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field. Experience in growing communities or similar municipal settings.
- AICP Certification
- Background in land use planning principles, development regulations, zoning ordinances and building codes.
- Experience in budget development and management.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Familiarity with GIS and other relevant software applications.
- Data-driven decision-making skills.
- Accountability while managing multiple projects.

The full salary range: $138,112 - $207,168. Expected hiring range: $138,112 - $155,000. Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
