- Develop procedures and methodologies for research, analysis, and evaluation of agency programs and initiatives including determining sources for obtaining data in support of these tasks.
- Report agency data, outcomes of analysis, and interpret implications for policy and practice.
- Support preparation of monthly, annual, and other periodic work reports.
- Correspond with users and providers of data to coordinate, manage, and improve data quality and program efficacy.
- Write programs using SQL-based logic to extract data from agency databases using knowledge of the various subsystems and databases that support departmental operations and initiatives; link records across databases to create new and unique analytical and practical data sources.
- Consult with various level of administration in planning and implementing evaluation projects.
- Prepare detailed reports using tables, charts, and narratives using advanced statistical knowledge that includes proficiency with regression, machine-learning, and qualitative analysis techniques.
- Assist in formulating administrative and research policies for the unit.
- Correlate program policies and practices with agency data, including federal and state requirements.
- Knowledge of R, Tableau, SQL, and Python statistical packages, or demonstrated ability to apply experience with similar software.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative in performance of responsibilities; receive general administrative direction and feedback on conformance of projects and products to broad agency objectives and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsOne or more years as a Research/Data Analyst within the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System;
OREight or more years of professional level experience, relevant/similar to the above listed job duties.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for up to four years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year - a minimum of four years of experience is required)
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Experience working with Tableau and certified LEAN/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.

- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
