Duties include but not limited to:- Collaborate with administration and counselor to build 6-8-week cycles of social emotional learning
- Facilitate small group lessons with students focused on social emotional learning
- Facilitate conflict resolution between students when conflict arises
- Facilitate restorative conversations between students when conflict arises
Essential Job Functions1. This position will teach students basic concepts in subjects including reading comprehension, math and writing.
2. This position will read to students, guide them through pronunciation and explain terms using definitions and real-life examples; pupils can range from kindergarten students learning the English alphabet, to high school seniors who need to refresh on basic algebra.
3. This position customizes and crafts effective tutoring plans that address student weaknesses and strengths and will assist them to succeed academically; shows written evidence of preparation upon request of assigned administrator; maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, District policy and administrative regulations.
4. This position assesses the accomplishments for student growth on a regular basis; progress monitoring and applicable documentation is expected; provides progress reports, as required.
5. This position takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect the students, equipment, materials and facilities; effectively utilizes and provides access to the materials, resources and services of the community and the District to enhance students’ learning and tutor’s effectiveness.
Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in education, or related field, from accredited university; teaching certificate, preferred; Without a BA degree, An AA degree or Passing the ParaPro test will meet the requirements. One year of prior experience working with school-aged youth, preferably in a classroom setting; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work and that meets federal and state requirements.
Licenses/Special RequirementsFingerprints and successful WSP and FBI background clearance/sexual misconduct clearance is the responsibility of the private school.
