POSITION SUMMARYOperates Copy Center, mailroom, and manages accountability of equipment and supplies. Provides customer service, and customer complaint resolution. Work requires knowledge of the operation, use and maintenance of copying and mailroom equipment, mail handling and distribution procedures, equipment and supply inventory and control processes, and supervisory practices and techniques.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSEssential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. - Sets up, operates, and maintains complex color and black/white high-speed copiers, inserters, laminators, poster makers, binding equipment, and mailing equipment
- Assists the Publishing Services Administrator with printing, copying, binding, and mailing jobs/projects for outside customers and/or other City employees
- Obtains and prints, copies, binds, and/or laminates original files or documents, as requested
- Operates electronic postage scale and postage machine; determines correct postage; sorts, weighs, and stamps all outgoing U.S. mail
- Receives invoices; remits payments; logs payments, reconciles P-Card transactions, and creates purchase orders
- Orders and maintains supplies needed for operations
- Interacts with vendors and delivery personnel ensuring accuracy
- Interacts with other City employees by email, telephone and in person to establish needs and schedules
- Maintains postage records for chargebacks to City departments; processes paperwork to refill postage meter and keeps appropriate records of large department mailings
- Provides training on new equipment requirements and usage
- Picks up mail at Post Office and delivers to City mail room, sorts and redistributes
- Periodically distributes inter-office mail to facilities throughout the City
- Coordinates and directs other Copy Center/mail room personnel for efficiency and effective operations
- Coordinates task completion priorities and schedules work accordingly
- Maintains safety protocols while operating Copy Center/Mail room equipment
- Performs related work as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS, PREFERENCES & WORK ENVIRONMENT MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.One (1) year of customer service and the ability to perform operations on a variety of high-speed copy machines, print shop and mailing equipment. Possess or be able to obtain a valid State of Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Prior working experience and/or knowledge on operations of a variety of high-speed copy machines, print shop and mailing equipment is preferred.If claiming Veteran's Preference, candidates must attach a DD214 Member 4 form, and the City of Fort Lauderdale's veteran's preference claim form (J-204) to the online application.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The position involves medium physical demands, such as exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
