This position will be located at the
Northeast Regional Office, 1709 Prospect Drive, Macon, Missouri. You will be joining the Air Pollution Compliance Unit where you will work to protect air quality for the Northeast Region.
- Schedule and conduct environmental inspections of stationary and portable air pollution sources in the Northeast Region.
- Schedule and conduct environmental inspections of regulated asbestos abatement and demolition projects in the Northeast Region.
- Provide compliance and technical assistance to the regulated community and general public on air pollution requirements, both in the office and onsite.
- Schedule and conduct environmental investigations related to air quality concerns.
- Prepare documentation that is timely and accurate (reports, correspondence, photographs, data entry, and forms) and conduct follow-up work for timely compliance.
- Provide compliance and technical assistance to the regulated community and general public, on air pollution requirements, both in the office and onsite.
- Conduct emergency response to situations that require immediate action, including outside regular work hours.
- Obtain EPA Method 9 certification necessary to evaluate smokestack opacity.
- Attend training and obtain Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Supervisor licenses.

Equivalent to those typically gained by: - A bachelor’s degree and 0-4 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed)
- Preferred degree program would include the following: Environmental Science or Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Geology, Forestry, Soil Science, Ecology, Wildlife Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Soil Conservation, or a closely related field.
